My passions

The current outbreak in AI technology fascinates me. I believe in the transformative power of AI, working on improving NLP technology for day-today use and anticipating how it will reshape our interaction with the world.

Currently, I'm on the cusp of completing my Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. With a foundation in Physics and Computer Science, my aspirations are set on graduate studies in either Physics or Astrophysics, in the US or Europe potentially.

My background

I was born in Argentina, schooled in Japanese, and I'm fluent in both Japanese and Spanish. During my free time you might find me jamming on my guitar, hanging with my partner, or spiking a volleyball. I also enjoy watching movies (mostly psychological thrillers) and reading philosophy.

Professional Experience

I currently work as a Computational Plasma Researcher under the supervision of Dr. Colby Haggerty at the University of Hawai‘i – Institute for Astronomy. My work involves studying collisionless plasma phenomena, such as shocks and magnetic reconnection.

In addition to research, I worked as a Learning Assistant at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawai’i at Manoa, where I had the opportunity to tutor and teach introductory physics. I've also taught English to Japanese students on the OkPanda platform and tutored students in Japanese.

I have participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates program (REU) at the Institute for Astronomy in the summer of 2022 where I partook in research on Magnetic Reconnection with my mentor and gave a talk. Thanks to such work, I have attended an AGU Fall Meeting (American Geophysical Union conference) in Chicago in 2022 where I gave a talk on Guide Field Magnetic Reconnection Outflow Reduction.

Personal Projects

I am currently using a new python API framework named "langchain" to harness the power of large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT or LLAMA2 and create the first AI-powered photometry calibration and catalog extraction tool/agent for photometric data in an easy and straight-forward way using only natural language processing (NLP).

The project aims to reduce the friction between the old technologies that are being used nowadays for this task and make the process of extracting objects more "user-friendly" as well as concatenating this new technology I mastered with another field I partake and enjoy working on.
